May 19: Hands Across The Sand
TOGETHER WE STAND! TOGETHER WE FIGHT! TOGETHER WE SURF! Join Surfrider LA and StokeShare for a special event. We’re combining Hands Across the Sand – a national day of protest against offshore oil drilling, with StokeShare’s One Watershed program introducing at-risk youth to surfing. WE NEED YOUR HELP for the kids event. If you have boards/wetsuits to loan or want to help kids in the water, let us know! With the Trump administration’s plan to open 90% of our federal waters to oil and gas development we need to keep the pressure on and let our elected officials know that we WILL NOT TOLERATE ANY NEW LEASES for offshore oil expansion in the United States. Come to the beach in Santa Monica at Bay Street and join hands with your community and help us send a message to Congress.
May 20: Sunset Point Beachclean
Surfrider LA is back at Sunset Point. Join us for some serious heavy lifting. Just this year we’re removed over a ton of trash from Sunset Point, including 10K+ cigarette butts, and thousands of straws and bottle caps. Please were close-toed shoes and be sure to bring your reusable water bottle to fill at our drinking station, courtesy of Aguavida Alkaline H20.
May 30: May Chapter Meeting
Let’s keep the momentum going, take action & stand up for the causes you care about! Attend our monthly Surfrider chapter meeting! We’ll be back at the Rapp for a traditional meeting with campaign and program updates, calls to action, and upcoming events announcements. Open to all Surfrider members and non-members. Join us and make a difference for the protection of our ocean, coasts and planet through a powerful activist network!
